CARLSBAD, NM - Authorities said a driver was killed in a rollover crash in Eddy County last week.
In a Facebook post, the Eddy County Sheriff's Office said it responded to the scene Wednesday morning on US HIghway 62/180 near mile post 47 at about 5:46 a.m.
A preliminary investigation found a driver was headed east on the highway and drove into the center median. When trying to go back onto the highway the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise and cross both eastbound lanes. The vehicle went off the highway and rolled over until it came to a stop upright.
The driver, whose name was not released, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
