GREENWOOD, IN - Authorities said one person died in a collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle in Greenwood on Wednesday morning, WXIN reports.
Police responded to the scene in the vicinity of East Main Street and Commerce Parkway West Drive after the incident was reported at about 6:35 a.m.
The victim of the wreck was identified as 26-year-old Michaela Norton of Greenwood.
The accident shut down Interstate 65 northbound to Main Street, and traffic at the southbound I-65 exit ramp was heavily backed up. According to the Greenwood Fire Department, roadway closures lasted for about seven hours while the scene was being cleared and investigated.
