Tanker truck accident in Nappanee leaves driver dead

NAPPANEE, IN - A driver was killed in a truck accident in Nappanee last Friday afternoon, according to a report by WNDU.

The victim, 50-year-old Jeffery Kendall of Plymouth, was driving a tanker truck on Tomahawk Trail in an industrial park near US-6 when the crash occurred at about 12:55 p.m.  Authorities said Kendall lost control of the vehicle while headed north and went off the roadway.  When it re-entered the road, the truck rolled, slid southbound and went up in flames.

Several area fire departments responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze.  The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
