LAFAYETTE, IN - Authorities were called to the scene of a crash involving a Tippecanoe School Corporation bus on Monday morning, according to WXIN.
The bus was headed south on US Highway 231 S when the accident happened shortly before 8 a.m. As the driver of the bus activated its amber lights to slow down, the driver of a northbound Toyota Highlander began to slow for the bus.
Investigators said the driver of a northbound semi tractor-trailer did not see the Highlander and hit it from behind, causing it to collide with the bus.
The Toyota driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the semi and none of the 31 students on the bus were injured.
The semi-driver was reported cited for the incident, which shut down U.S. 231 S. for about an hour.
