INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Police and emergency responders were called to the scene of an accident at an Indianapolis school on Wednesday morning, WTHR reports.
Authorities said a van crashed through a brick wall at Stephen Decatur Elementary School in the area of Foltz Street and West Mooresville Road just before 6 a.m. The vehicle went into a classroom near a side entrance to the school.
No one was inside the school at the time, with all schools in the district closed for the Thanksgiving break. Officials said the two people in the vehicle made it out on their own and did not need to be transported.
Indianapolis police are investigating the crash and learned that the van may have had brake issues while the driver was headed south on Mooresville Road. The van was removed and the building was found to be structurally sound.
