INDIANAPOLIS, IN - An accident involving multiple trucks shut down a portion of Interstate 465 on the south side of Indianapolis Friday morning.
WISH reports the crash involved semitrailers, a dump truck and a passenger vehicle. It happened shortly after 7 a.m. on westbound I-465 near South Harding Street exit. There was no immediate word regarding injuries.
I-465 westbound was closed for about two hours from the U.S. 31 exit to the exit for Harding Street and State Road 37. The wreck caused major traffic backups through the area during the morning rush hour before all lanes of the interstate reopened later in the morning.
The cause of the accident was not yet known.
