Woman pleads no contest in Albuquerque crash that killed bicyclist

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A woman pleaded no contest in connection with a fatal drunk driving accident in Albuquerque in June 2023, KRQE reports.

Investigators said 23-year-old Leann Blackhorse was driving a pickup truck at about 1:30 a.m. when she collided with a bicyclist in the area of Gibson Boulevard and Yale Boulevard.  The bicyclist died at the scene.  

Police said driver inattention and intoxication were contributing factors in the incident.  Blackhorse was initially charged with vehicular homicide DWI and leaving the scene of an accident causing great bodily harm or death.
