INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Indianapolis on Monday afternoon, WTHR reported.
The victim, a woman, was hit by the car on East Washington Street near South Meridian Street just after 1 p.m. The woman was pronounced dead after being rushed to Eskenazi Hospital.
Police said the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
As part of the standard procedure in such an investigation, blood was drawn from the driver at the hospital.
