INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Two drivers were hospitalized after a wrong-way crash early Tuesday morning near downtown Indianapolis, Indiana State Police said.
According to a WTHR report, the driver of a car was headed north in the southbound lanes of I-65 at about 1 a.m. The crash then occurred in the southbound lanes around 21st Street, and reportedly involved the car and a semi-tractor trailer.
Both drivers were taken to a hospital in Indianapolis to be evaluated for injuries. Investigators are looking into the cause of the accident, and trying to determine whether impairment was a contributing factor.
All southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for about two hours for the crash response and investigation.
