MONTGOMERY COUNTY, IN - Indiana State Police and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were called to the scene of a deadly accident on northbound U.S. 231 on Sunday, reports WISH-TV.
The incident, involving a truck and an SUV, occurred shortly before 6 p.m. in the vicinity of State Road 234. According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a 2016 Honda CRV heading north on State Road 234 pulled out into the path of a 2006 Freightliner going north on U.S. 231.
The vehicles collided, and both ended up on the west side of U.S. 231.
A passenger in the Honda, whose name was not released, died at the scene. The Honda driver was taken to a hospital in Indiana, but the person's condition was not yet known. The Freightliner driver was not injured in the wreck.
