1 driver killed, 1 injured in crash on Old U.S. 31 in Rochester

FULTON COUNTY, IN - Indiana State Police said one driver was killed and another injured when their vehicles collided in Fulton County on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened near 4960 North Old US 31 in Rochester shortly after 4 p.m., according to WXIN.  An investigation by ISP determined that the driver of a Buick was going south and traveled left of center on the roadway, where the vehicle collided with a northbound Dodge.

The Buick driver, identified as 23-year-old Quinton Sayger of Rochester, died at the scene.  The Dodge driver, a 37-year-old resident of Plymouth, was hospitalized with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.

ISP and the Fulton County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of the accident, which remains under investigation.  At this time, it is not believed that drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
