INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Two people, ages 29 and 22, lost their lives early Sunday following a hit-and-run motorcycle collision on the west side of Indianapolis, according to WISHTV.COM.
The fatal incident was reported at 3555 Lafayette Road, a little south of Interstate 65, prompting a response from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers at about 1:00 a.m.
While the circumstances of the event remain under investigation, IMPD indicated that a hit-and-run driver was involved.
The operator of a motorcycle and their passenger, described as a 29-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, respectively, were found with serious injuries at the scene. Both victims were rushed to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
Authorities said they do not have information regarding the suspect or the fleeing vehicle at this time, but IMPD officials continue to investigate.
