CARLSBAD, NM - The Eddy County Sheriff's Office said two men died following a car crash last week, KLBK reports.
The accident, reported to be a single-vehicle rollover, occurred July 25 on US Highway 285 south of mile post 4. The sheriff's office said the victims were 23-year-old Matthew James Keith and 20-year-old Alex James Richards, both of Lubbock, Texas.
Investigators said the wreck happened at about 7:30 p.m. The vehicle was headed north when it veered off the highway and rolled over, causing Richards to be ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Keith was pronounced dead after being transported to Carlsbad Medical Center and then to University Medical Center.
