7 teens hurt when pickup slams into home on west side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indianapolis police said an accident involving a pickup truck sent seven teenagers to the hospital early Friday morning, according to a WTHR report.

Investigators said the 17-year-old driver of the pickup lost control of the vehicle at about 1:30 a.m. in the 8700 block of Rockville Road near Country Club Road on the city's west side.  The truck went off the road and struck a utility pole, a house, and multiple decks of two homes.

The driver and six passengers, ages 15 to 18, were transported to area hospitals.  No details were provided on their conditions, though a police report did indicate some serious injuries.  No other vehicles were involved.

Demage resulting from the crash included gas lines.  Speed and road conditions were believed to have been contributing factors in the incident.
