INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Eight people were injured Tuesday in a crash in Indianapolis involving a suspected drunk driver, according to a WXIN report.
Police said a 27-year-old man was driving a sports car north on North State Avenue shortly before 3:34 p.m. when he collided with a Ford Explorer headed east on East New York Street.
The driver of the Ford was a 34-year-old woman who had six children as passengers. Three of the children were hospitalized in critical condition, while the three others were in stable condition. The two drivers were both taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The driver of the sports car, identified as Tramayne Deron Harris, was arrested on multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated, causing catastrophic injury, and reckless driving.
The area was shut down to traffic for over four hours during the crash response and investigation.
