WHITELAND, IN - The Whiteland Police Department said it has arrested one of the drivers involved in a fatal collision that occurred Tuesday night.
WXIN reports the incident happened at the intersection of US 31 and Country Wood Drive at about 9:30 p.m. A preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of a truck was attempting to cross US 31 and was struck by a motorcycle heading north on the highway.
The motorcyclist, 19-year-old Drew Shrader of Shelbyville, was killed in the crash.
The truck driver, identified as 62-year-old Jeffrey Cobbs of New Whiteland, was arrested under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was preliminarily charged with possible intoxication while operating a vehicle causing death.
