Collision in Michigan City leaves motorcyclist seriously injured

LAPORTE COUNTY, IN - Police said a collision in LaPorte County on Saturday night sent a motorcycle rider to the hospital, according to WSBT.

An investigation determined that two motorcycles were heading south on Franklin Street in Michigan City at about 8:15 p.m. A vehicle traveling north tried to make a left hand turn into a Wendy's restaurant when one of the motorcycles struck the rear of the vehicle.

The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and suffered serious injuries. The victim was taken to Franciscan Health for treatment.

Anyone with further information on the accident was asked to contact Michigan City police.
