Crash on Interstate 96 in Wright Township injures both drivers

WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, MI - A rear-end collision in Ottawa County last week left both drivers injured, authorities said.

According to MLive.com, the crash happened along Interstate 96 in Wright Township at about noon on Wednesday.  Investigators determined that the driver of a 2014 Toyota Highlander had to slow down for traffic near a construction site west of 24th Avenue and was struck from behind by a 2018 Toyota RAV4.

The driver of the Highlander, a 30-year-old man from Coopersville, and the driver of the RAV4, a 43-year-old Sparta man, both suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.  No one else was in either vehicle.

The incident shut down I-96 west for about an hour while the scene was being cleared.
