KOKOMO, IN - The Kokomo Police Department is investigating a car accident that left two people injured on Saturday.
WTHR reports the incident happened in the area of Elm Street and Ohio Street at about noon. Investigators determined that the driver of a Honda sedan was going south on Ohio Street when she sideswiped a parked car. The Honda driver lost control of her vehicle, drove off the roadway and crashed into a building.
A passenger in the Honda, a 62-year-old woman from Kokomo, suffered injuries that were potentially life-threatening and was flown to a hospital in Indianapolis. The Honda driver, a 49-year-old Kokomo woman, was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Police said suspicion of operating the vehicle while intoxicated is under investigation.
