SHELBYVILLE, IN - A fatal accident was disrupting traffic in a portion of Shelby County on Monday afternoon.
An advisory from WIBC Traffic at 4:14 p.m. said all lanes of eastbound Interstate 74 were closed from Fairland Road to near State Road 9 west of Shelbyville. There was no immediate word on who had died in the crash.
Traffic was diverted at Fairland Road, and drivers were used to taking southbound I-65 to State Road 44 and then taking eastbound SR-44 to Shelbyville as an alternate route.

This had been confirmed as a fatal crash. At the moment, EB-74 remains closed from Fairland Rd. to near S.R. 9 (west of Shelbyville). Traffic is being diverted at Fairland Rd.
