CARMEL, IN - A driver trying to elude law enforcement authorities crashed in Indianapolis early Wednesday morning, WTHR reports.
The incident began at about 1 a.m. when a Carmel police officer attempted a traffic stop on the driver of a Dodge Charger who may have been speeding. Police said the driver took off and led police on a chase along Interstate 465 southbound. The Charger driver then exited the interstate at Brookville Road and crashed while trying to make a turn off the exit ramp.
One person inside the car and another person who tried to flee from the vehicle on foot were both taken into custody. There was no immediate word on whether anyone was injured.
The Carmel Police Department was assisted by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
