ANDERSON, IN - Police in Anderson said a driver who exited his car after a previous crash was struck and killed by another vehicle Sunday morning, WXIN reports.
The incident occurred along Interstate 69, where the driver of a GMC pickup truck reportedly rear-ended a Toyota sedan near mile marker 22 at about 5:30 a..m. Both cars stopped in the road and the driver of the pickup, 23-year-old Justin Tracy, got out of his vehicle.
The investigation indicated that Tracy was then struck by a Dodge sedan whose driver unknowingly entered the scene after the initial crash. Tracy was pronounced dead at the scene.
All those involved in the accident were reported to be cooperating with investigators with the Anderson Police Department crash team. Interstate 69 was shut down for several hours during the investigation.
