LAPORTE COUNTY, IN - The LaPorte County Sheriff's Office announced that an arrest has been made in a fatal hit-and-run accident that happened early Monday morning.
According to WNDU, the case involves a man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in the 11800 block of W. US-6 near Westville. The victim, identified as Keith Eastwood, died at the scene.
The driver involved left the scene of the crash but investigators found evidence left behind from the vehicle. That helped them identify the vehicle, which was located on Capital Road in Porter County where the suspect was taken into custody.
A warrant was issued for the suspect, for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
The alleged driver, 48-year-old Troy Slack, was then arrested and was taken to the the LaPorte County Jail on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
