Man arrested in Indianapolis hit-and-run that killed pedestrian

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Authorities said an alleged drunk driver who left the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Indianapolis on Saturday morning was later arrested.

WXIN reports the suspect was identified as 27-year-old Salvador Banales of Houston, Texas.  According to investigators, Banales was driving south on North College Avenue at about 2 a.m. when he struck three pedestrians on the southwest corner of the intersection with Massachusetts Avenue.

One of the victims, identified as 27-year-old Brandon James Breedlove, died of his injuries.  The other two pedestrians were listed in stable condition.

Banales faces multiple charges in connection with the crash, including leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and causing catastrophic injury when operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
