LAGRANGE COUNTY, IN - The LaGrange County Sheriff's Office said a man is facing charges in connection with the death of a young girl in a crash on Monday afternoon.
WSBT reports the incident happened on County Road 600 just west of County Road 100 West at about 2:50 p.m. According to the sheriff's office, two children were crossing CR-600 when one of them was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The victim, a 7-year-old girl from Millersburg, died at the scene. The other child was not injured.
The alleged driver, 26-year-old Eric Estrada of Ligonier, was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Estrada was arrested and charged with OWI causing a fatality.
