KOKOMO, IN - A multi-vehicle collision in Kokomo late Thursday night left a motorcyclist dead, according to the Kokomo Tribune.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Reese Hendershot of Kokomo. Authorities said Hendershot was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson westbound on Indiana 26 when the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m.
He crossed the center line into eastbound traffic near Council Ring Boulevard while apparently trying to pass a vehicle, according to investigators.
At that point the motorcycle was hit by an eastbound Jeep, which was then struck from behind by a Dodge Caravan. The Jeep spun and the collision caused by the motorcycle to travel toward the north side of the roadway.
Hendershot was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no word on whether anyone else was injured.
Police do not believe impairment on the part of the other two drivers contributed to the accident.
