INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash on a highway exit ramp in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon, WXIN reports.
Police responded to the scene in the area of Interstate 465 and Interstate 69 after the incident was reported at 3:55 p.m. Investigators learned that the motorcyclist was traveling at high speed when he lost control of the bike and hit a guardrail along the exit ramp from I-465 north to I-69 north. The man was ejected from the bike, and was then hit by a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and was identified as 23-year-old J Son Lamont Rinehart.
The exit ramp was shut down for about three hours for the crash investigation, which determined that excessive speed was a likely factor in the accident. The pickup truck driver remained at the scene.
