Motorcyclist dies in accident on far east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - An accident on East 30th Street in Indianapolis early Tuesday claimed the life of a motorcyclist, WTHR reported.

According to police, the motorcyclist was heading east shortly after midnight when the bike went down on its side near Pawnee Drive. The motorcycle then slid off the side of the road and crashed into a fence.

The rider was pronounced dead after being taken to Eskenazi Hospital. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time the incident happened.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
