GRAND RAPIDS, MI - A truck accident caused traffic problems on Interstate 96 in a portion of Kent County on Tuesday, according to WZZM.
Police said a semi-truck overturned in the median on I-96 eastbound near exit 28 in Walker. Emergency crews were called to the scene to clean up metal shavings that spilled out into the roadway.
The eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of I-96 were shut down for several hours while the debris was being cleared. All lanes reopened by 8 p.m.
The driver of the truck, who was not injured, was issued citations for speeding and spilling a load in the roadway.
