Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run incident in Beech Grove

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Beech Grove Saturday night, authorities said.

According to a WTHR report, the incident happened in the area of South 9th Street and Roderick Court. Police officers arrived at about 9:40 p.m. to find a man who had been hit by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. The victim was identified as 47-year-old Shanon Scott Daugherty.

Beech Grove and Indianapolis police officers are now searching for the driver involved in the collision. Anyone with further information was asked to contact Indianapolis police.
