Driver injured following head-on collision in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, IN - A South Bend man was injured when he was involved in a multi-vehicle collision in Elkhart County last Friday morning.

According to a WBND report, 31-year-old Clarence Jackson was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla west on Old U.S. 20 shortly before 5:50 a.m. when he crossed over the center line.

Jackson's vehicle crashed into an eastbound 2017 Ford F-150 pickup truck head-on. Another eastbound vehicle, a 2018 Dodge Caravan, was behind the Ford and struck it from behind.

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office said Jackson suffered facial injuries and broken ribs.  The other drivers were not seriously hurt.

Jackson was cited for driving left of center, and no financial responsibility.  Blood test results are pending for all three drivers.
