SHELBY COUNTY, IN - An SUV and a tractor-trailer were involved in a deadly collision in Shelby County on Monday, WISH reports.
The accident happened east of Flat Rock, in the 10000 block of South State Road 9. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, witnesses said a man driving a Jeep Liberty crossed over the center line near the intersection with County Road 1100 South. The Jeep crashed into the tractor-trailer head-on.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 23-year-old Jonathan May, died at the scene. The driver of the truck, 65-year-old Gary Jaquess, and a passenger, 22-year-old Alexis Eversole, were treated at an area hospital.
