Victim identified in car wreck on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The victim of a car accident that occurred in Indianapolis Friday morning has been identified, according to WTHR.

Michelle Umana-Rodriguez was killed in the two-car crash in the area of East 21st Street and North Irwin Street on the city's east side. The incident happened at about 8:30 a.m.as Umana-Rodriguez was taking one of her children to school, family members said. Her son sustained minor injuries and was listed in stable condition at an area hospital.

Umana-Rodriguez was a mother of six children ranging in age from 9 to 17. Family and friends held a candlelight vigil in her memory near the crash scene on Saturday night.

The driver of the other vehicle was hospitalized in serious condition.
