Woman, 72, fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon, according to police.

A report by WTHR stated that the victim was identified as 72-year-old Karen Reffitt. She was hit by a vehicle in the area of West 71st Street and Georgetown Road on the city's northwest side.

Police and first responders arriving at about 1:30 p.m. found Reffitt dead at the scene. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident, and asked anyone with further information to contact Crime Stoppers.
