Nick Lavella is a lawyer that represents disabled individuals before the Social Security Administration and U.S. federal courts. He serves as an attorney for those who were denied Social Security disability benefits, short term disability insurance benefits, and long term disability insurance benefits.
Nick is originally from New Castle, Pennsylvania, but has lived in Indiana since 2003. He received his undergraduate education from Purdue University (B.A. 2007), and then earned a law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law (J.D. 2010). During law school, Nick participated in Disability Clinic, Moot Court, Trial Advocacy, and volunteered at Indiana Legal Services.
Nick has experience representing individuals at every step of the Social Security disability process. Nick is licensed to practice law in the state of Indiana, and practices in the United States District Courts of Southern Indiana and Northern Indiana. He is a member of the National Organization for Social Security Claimants Representatives and Indianapolis Bar Association.

Nick also represents individuals who are denied private disability insurance benefits. He has specialized experience in cases governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Nick’s areas of practice include appealing the denial of disability insurance benefits and lawsuits to recover wrongly denied insurance benefits.
In his free time, Nick enjoys running, traveling, hiking, and backyard chicken farming. He also serves as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana. He and his wife live in Indianapolis with their cat.
