In certain instances, the requirements for qualifying for veterans’ disability benefits has been positively adjusted by the United States Veterans Affairs Department. For some recent US veterans, such as those who served in the Persian Gulf War, the Iraq War, or the Afghanistan War, it will be easier to obtain VA disability benefits and apply for VA disability benefits.

Going forward, these veterans will need only to prove that they served in one of the three above wars and that they have one of nine specific diseases. Instead of having to prove that the diseases were acquired due to their service in the armed forces, vets will be given presumptive status, and it will be assumed that they contracted their conditions during their time as soldiers.

The nine diseases are malaria, West Nile virus, brucellosis, campylobacter jejuni, coxiella burnetii, mycobacterium tuberculosis, nontyphoid salmonella, shigella and visceral leishmaniasis.

I have a rating of 60% 10% for back and 50% MST PTSD. I recently was denied compensation for sleep apnea syndrome or diabetes mellitus. The reasons for both were the evidence does not show they were relatedto service connected condition for my PTSD. Had two VA doctors filled out paperwork saying that they believe these are related to my PTSD. Some information I received a TBI while working for DOD and with that stress and the stress of my wife leaving me the MST came out after many years of not knowing about it. ( it's called something) was granted 50% for the PTSD that was never in my record. And with these two compensations that were denied because not found during service but drs say it's related to the PTSD and depression and other related evidence to the PTSD . The denied letter is dated April 7, 2015. What is my next step? Is there a chance in receiving compensation to problems that affect my daily life.
