COOPERSVILLE, MI - The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office was called to the scene of a crash at an intersection in Coopersville last week.
According to MLive.com, the accident happened Thursday afternoon in the area of Arthur Street and 48th Avenue. An investigation determined that a California man driving a semi-truck on Arthur Street shortly before 1 p.m. failed to yield the right-of-way to a minivan at 48th Avenue.
The two vehicles collided and the driver of the minivan, a 30-year-old Ravenna woman, was pinned inside her vehicle. She was extricated and transported to Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries. An infant riding with her was not injured.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, which shut down the intersection.
