CHAPARRAL, NM - A man is facing charges following a fatal crash in Dona Ana County involving a utility task vehicle.
The Las Cruces Sun-News reports 21-year-old Kevin De La Rosa was arrested in connection with the Aug. 13 incident near Mathis Road in Chaparral.
An investigation indicated that De La Rosa and 20-year-old Eric Faudoa were both riding their UTVs. As Faudoa stood on the passenger's side of his vehicle, he was struck by De La Rosa's UTV.
Sheriff's deputies arriving at the scene said De La Rosa was observed to be impaired and admitting drinking alcohol before hitting Faudoa.
