ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident last Friday night.
According to a BCSO press release, deputies responded to the scene near the 300 block on La Vega Drive SW in South Valley at about 10:47 p.m.
They found a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and was unconscious in the roadway. The victim, identified as 56-year-old Martin Legarda, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The BCSO Traffic Investigation Unit asked anyone who can provide any information about the responsible individual or the vehicle involved to contact their detectives.
