Driver dead after head-on collision on State Road 118 near Gallup

GALLUP, NM - A driver was killed when his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision in McKinley County last week, according to a report by KRQE.

The incident happened May 29 on State Road 118 at mile marker 14 west of Gallup.  The New Mexico State Police said the driver of a 1998 Dodge truck was heading west when he attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him and collided with an eastbound GMC pickup truck head-on.

The Dodge rolled over and the driver, identified as 44-year-old Gregory Bradfield of Wichita, Kansas, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the GMC was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.  Three passengers in the GMC were treated and released at the scene.

The wreck remains under investigation by State Police.
