Driver dies after crashing into parked vehicles on Central Avenue

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a fatal car crash that occurred last week, the Albuquerque Journal reports.

The incident happened Oct. 2 along Central Avenue NE near Eubank Boulevard NE.  According to police, a man was driving west on Central Avenue in a Toyota FJ SUV just after 4 p.m. when he collided with the center median.  The impact sent the SUV into the eastbound lanes where it struck a Nissan sedan and a Jeep Grand Cherokee that were parked in a turn bay.  The Toyota then rolled and the driver was thrown from the car.

The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

A boy who was in the Jeep was hospitalized in stable condition.  Investigators do not believe speed was a contributing factor in the accident.  Our Albuquerque car accident lawyer will update this news blog with the latest information as it is made publicly available.
