CARNUEL, NM - The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal accident on Interstate 40 on Tuesday night.
According to an alert issued at 9:11 p.m., two vehicles were involved in the crash on I-40 westbound near the 170 mile marker near the Carnuel exit. No details were released on who had been killed or what led to the wreck.
BCSO deputies were assisted with traffic control at the scene by the New Mexico State Police. The sheriff's office said there was a single-vehicle rollover just east of the deadly accident.
Drivers were advised to slow down and use caution while deputies were working at the scene of both crashes.
