Lane shut down on I-40 eastbound near state line due to crash

MCKINLEY COUNTY, NM -  A crash was slowing traffic along a stretch of Interstate 40 in McKinley County on Tuesday afternoon, according to the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

An alert on NMRoads at 12:37 p.m. said that the accident occurred on I-40 eastbound at mile marker 1, about 1 mile east of the Arizona state line.  The eastbound right lane was shut down as first responders converged on the scene.

Motorists were advised to expect minor traffic delays, and were asked to drive with caution, reduce their speed and obey all posted traffic signs.
