SANTA FE, NM - A man was arrested following a multi-vehicle accident in Santa Fe last Friday night, according to KRQE.
Police responded to the scene in the area of Cerrillos Road and St. Michaels Drive at about 7 p.m. Witnesses told officers that a driver weaving through the traffic went through a red light and caused a crash that involved a total of seven vehicles.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Irving Valverde of Santa Fe, was placed under arrest. Authorities said he fled the scene after the crash. Valverde faces charges including reckless driving, aggravated assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, and leaving the scene of a crash.
No injuries were reported but debris blocked northbound lanes on Cerrillos Road.
