TREMENTINA, NM - The New Mexico State Police are investigating a fatal collision last week involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
A report by KFDA states that State Police responded to the scene July 12 on State Road 104 near milepost 52 near Trementina.
According to a preliminary investigation, a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling behind a 2008 Dodge pickup truck as both headed east at about 12:24 p.m. The driver of the truck slowed down to turn left while approaching a driveway but the motorcyclist tried to pass on the opposite travel lane, sideswiped the pickup, and crashed.
The motorcycle rider, identified as 46-year-old Damon Herbert of Amarillo, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Should any additional information come to light, our Albuquerque motorcycle accident lawyer will update this news blog.
