GALLUP, NM - One person was killed and two others injured after a pickup truck accident on Interstate 40, the New Mexico State Police said.
According to a report by KRQE, the incident occurred June 10 on I-40 east near mile marker 39 east of Gallup. The NMSP said the driver of a 2003 Chevy pickup truck drove into the median on the interstate and then rolled onto Six Mile Canyon Road.
A passenger in the Chevy, 50-year-old Cesar Alfaro, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and one of the passengers were hospitalized with injuries that were not disclosed.
State Police are investigating the wreck and said that alcohol does not appear to have been a contributing factor.
