Motorcyclist dies after colliding with semi-truck in NE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police said a semi-truck and a motorcycle were involved in a deadly collision in northeast Albuquerque on Monday morning.

The Albuquerque Journal reports the incident took place in the area of Copper Avenue NE and Louisiana Boulevard NE just before 6 a.m.

According to investigators, the driver of the semi-truck was headed west at the stop sign on Copper Avenue and turned north onto Louisiana across all lanes of traffic. A motorcycle going north on Louisiana collided with the front driver's side of the semi.

The motorcyclist, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police investigating the accident did not believe that speed or alcohol were contributing factors.
