The incident involving a 2021 Freightliner commercial motor vehicle happened on Interstate 40 near mile marker 153 at about 12:10 p.m, according to an NMSP news release.
Investigators said a 42-year-old woman was driving the truck eastbound on I-40 when it left the roadway and rolled, ejecting both the driver and passenger.
The passenger, 39-year-old Eric Remaly of San Bernardino, California, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
