ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Two people died after an accident Thursday night involving a fleeing motorcycle, Albuquerque police said.
According to a report by KOAT, the operator of the motorcycle fled after an officer tried to conduct a traffic stop, and crashed into another vehicle in the area of Central Avenue and Atrisco Drive.
The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while a passenger on the bike died after being taken to an area hospital. Two people in the vehicle sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the incident. The area around the crash scene was shut down in both directions while police and emergency crews responded.
