News: Pedestrian critically injured after being hit by car in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police said a pedestrian walking in Albuquerque was struck by a car and injured Saturday.

According to KOAT, the accident happened near the intersection of Menaul Boulevard and Pan American Freeway.  Police said the pedestrian walked into lanes of traffic and into the path of a white Honda Accord going east.  The victim was critically injured and rushed to University of New Mexico Hospital.

The driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and spoke to a police officer.  Investigators said pedestrian error was a contributing factor in the incident, as the pedestrian was not using a crosswalk at the time.

Speed or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the crash, our Albuquerque accident attorney adds.
